A Summer Soirée for the Books
Groupware held it’s 12th Annual Summer Soirée on August 10th at Jack Rose Libation House in Los Gatos. Over 400 guests joined us for a lovely evening of food, networking and fun. Now that we’ve had a chance to reflect on this year’s Summer Soirée, we would like to share the Top 5 Reasons 2017 was the best year yet!
1. Location, Location, Location
This year’s Summer Soirée was held at Jack Rose Libation House in Los Gatos. Jack Rose is a unique venue that features a lot of different spaces to maximize guest’s experience. Guests were welcomed through the front patio and greeted with a welcome drink before being whisked into the beer garden for food and entertainment. They could also head into Bramble & Bier to cool off and grab some dessert or hang out on the side patio to play a game of corn hole. We heard from many guests how much they enjoyed the venue and all the options it gave them. Does this mean we’ll be returning in 2018? Guess you’ll have to wait and see!
Jack Rose Libation House earned its namesake from famous American writer John Steinbeck’s beloved cocktail- The Jack Rose. We decided to run with the rustic 1930s depression era vibe that is prominent in many of Steinbeck’s classics. A live, vintage band was the perfect fit for this era. The San Francisco based Cosmo Alleycats kept the energy up with a mix of both Big Band and Swing style music. However, it wouldn’t be a tech industry event without something new and fun! The event also featured a slow motion photo booth. What is a slow motion booth you ask? It’s similar to a photo booth but instead of posing still you are being filmed in slow motion while you move around. You can view the video here.
3. Food & Beverages
The Jack Rose chef and mixologists put together an incredible menu for our guests to enjoy. The food was a French and Mexican fusion and included the likes of street tacos and cornbread bites shaped like madeleines. The bartenders were serving up delicious craft cocktails. Our signature drink even featured a maroon “G” in the foam. The dessert buffet did not disappoint either. We had a range of sweet treats for every palette. Yum!
4. CEO Mike Thompson’s Toast
Groupware CEO Mike Thompson gave a great toast to cap the evening off. He touched on the idea of turning relationships into results, and that really captures what we hope to achieve with events like Summer Soirée. The relationships we have with our customers are such an important piece of our business- we believe it’s what sets us apart from the competition.
Of course we could not have pulled off Summer Soirée without the generous support of our sponsors. Thanks to these great partners for your participation in the best and biggest Summer Soirée to date!
